I started out in the Music Industry by literally knocking on doors. I had no relevant qualifications just a passion for music and a willingness to work hard for free / a pittance and learn. 

Fast-forward 23+ years & I’m still here.

I am a frequent guest speaker at industry seminars that have often involved young people at workshops or colleges (including LIPA, Access To Music, ICMP). Passing on stories and knowledge is of great interest to me. I don’t hold back when it comes to honesty and paint a real picture of my experiences with many anecdotes. 

I have appeared on TV, Radio (most recently BBC 5 Live, Dec 2018) and featured in books/publications as well as judged countless battle of the band competitions.

During my career, I worked predominantly as an A&R / talent scout for labels as well as other aspects of the business including management. My greatest work related achievement is that as a scout, I discovered Coldplay in 1998. I still work with them to this day. 

I have spotted several acts over the years: Coldplay, Keane, Elbow, Muse, Badly Drawn Boy, to the lesser know Delays, Nine Black Alps and many more. 

Working freelance gives me the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of projects such as Rock Assembly (The Transformation Trust), BPI’s Big Music Project, MPG Awards, FOCAL Archive Conference and Dallas Channel 5 launch.

As a writer I have a Huffington Post blog, a personal blog and have contributed to the BASCA members’ magazine. In October of last year, my first book, Life in Technicolor: A Celebration of Coldplay was published.

I’m a qualified Life Coach and use those skills on a daily basis.
